On 8 April 2016, H.E. Dato’ Ibrahim Abdullah, Ambassador of Malaysia to France was invited for a visit to SNECMA's assembly plant in Villaroche, France.
During the visit to the site, Ambassador was provided with background information on the SNECMA and its parent company SAFRAN, along with the range of activities they are involved in. Both sides expressed hope that mutually beneficial proposed cooperation will come to fruition. In this connection, Malaysia especially appreciates available business opportunities offered by Safran-Snecma to enter their supply chain.
There was also a presentation from Mme. Sandra BUDIMIR, on Starburst Accelerator, a start-up accelerator dedicated to Aerospace, Aviation and Defense.
After the dialogue, Ambassador was invited to partake in the French cuisine hosted by Mr. Didier DESNOYER, Vice President.
As part of the hospitality, Ambassador was accompanied for a tour around the assembly plant to witness the manufacturing of the current generation CFM56 commercial airplane engine and the next generation LEAP A, B, and C engines for civilian aircrafts. The tour then ended with a visit to Musée aéronautique et spatial du groupe SAFRAN.
