WORKING LUNCH FOR ASEAN HEADS OF MISSION HOSTED BY THE AMBASSADOR OF THAILAND WITH THE OECD

On May 2, 2018, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Ambassador of Thailand invited his ASEAN heads of mission counterparts for a working lunch with the OECD. The Embassy of Malaysia was represented by Mr. Ong Tze Shen, First Secretary. During the working lunch the ASEAN Heads of Mission collectively acknowledged that the work of the OECD is highly recognized and relevant in areas of study such as taxes;digitisation; governance; corporate governance; investment and financing; corruption;export credit; trade and services; technical barriers to trade; and the value of multilateralism, global governance, and the need to preserve it. Noting there is potential for further cooperation between the OECD and ASEAN, both sides explored opportunities that could be considered. Briefings on the OECD for ASEAN Ambassadors and Embassies in order to be provided with information on the array of OECD work and instruments were also welcomed.
