WORKING VISIT OF YB TUAN ANTHONY LOKE MINISTER OF TRANSPORT OF MALAYSIA TO FRANCE 22-25 OCTOBER 2018

On 22 October 2018, H.E. Dato’ Dr. Azfar Mohamad Mustafar, Ambassador of Malaysia to France hosted a dinner in honour of YB Tuan Anthony Loke Siew Fook, Minister of Transport when the latter was in France for a working visit. The dinner was attended by the heads of agencies based in Paris.

 

On 23 October 2018, YB Tuan Anthony Loke hosted a dinner for the Malaysian diaspora in France. The dinner was well attended by Malaysian students and expatriates residing in and at the outskirts of Paris. Earlier in the day, he had a meeting with H.E. Elisabeth Borne, Minister to the Minister of State, Minister of the Ecological and Solidary Transition, in Charge of Transport, of the Republic of France. During his visit, YB Tuan Anthone Loke also attended an exhibition of Euronaval, an international exhibition for naval defence and maritime security and safety on 24 October 2018 and went on a technical visit to CMA, a shipping company in Marseille on 25 October 2018. 

 

In his welcoming remarks during the dinner, he thanked Malaysians for their overwhelming support towards the newly formed government. He emphasised on the government's efforts in transforming the government and its machinery into a transparent and accountable administration. Broaching the issue of public transport, he highlighted that it is incumbent for the government to provide safe, integrated, affordable public transportation for the rakyat.

 

He also deliberated on the growing national aviation industry and explained how his Ministry will strive to maintain the development of highly conducive airport infrastructure to the public.

 

Towards the end, YB Tuan Anthony Loke mentioned that it takes the entire nation to build Malaysia. The government would need every individual, including those who are residing outside of Malaysia to contribute to Malaysia’s growth and prosperity. He explained that the message is from YAB Tun Dr. Mahathir, who envisions that Malaysians from all walks of life and from all over the world ought to contribute to the building of Malaysia Baru.
