London Sep 13: A reception was held at the conference hall in the High Commission in London to celebrate the 55th year of Malaysian Independece. The event started with a welcoming remarks from His Excellency Dato' Sri Zakaria Sulong followed by the singing of 'Negaraku' by all Malaysian that were present. This year's event was made even more special with the appearence of Ms Anisa Mandahiling, a Kent based Malaysian singer / painter who showcased some of her contemporary batik-themed paintings. She also performed a song to illustrate one of her masterpiece 'Dosa Si Kain Batik'. Anisa represented Malaysia at the UNESCO International Women's Day in Paris in March 2012. Dignitaries from foreign missions to the UK were treated to a variety of Malaysia traditional cuisine.
