More than 300 guests attended the National Day Reception of Malaysia?s 52nd Independence Anniversary at the High Commission in Belgrave Square, London SW1, Thursday 24th September 2009. Guests included government and corporate leaders, diplomatic corps, Asia House and the British-Malaysia Society members, Royal Malaysian Police Former Officers Association of U.K and National Malaya and Borneo Veterans Association, Malaysian business and community leaders, heads of Malaysian agencies and student leaders. Welcoming the guests High Commissioner Datuk Abd Aziz Mohammed, said Malaysia had come a long way since its independence 52 years ago and spoke of the special relationship between Britain and Malaysia. A wide variety of Malaysian food was served, including chicken satay with trimmings, nasi minyak, beef rending, ayam korma, mixed vegetables, Malaysian traditional delicacies and fresh fruits.
