On 11 November 2025, CDA Ahmad Fuad attended the launching ceremony for the Simandou integrated mining and infrastructure mega-project at port of Morebaya, Forecariah.
Officiated by the President of the Republic of Guinea, H.E Mamadi Doumbouya, the project aimed to facilitate export of high-quality iron ore worth up to 120 million tonnes annually, positioning Guinea as a key global player in the low-carbon steel sector. Investment for this project was estimated at USD20 billion which combines three essential components namely, mining, railway network and port infrastructure.
It is part of greater Simandou 2040 Program and serve as the driving force behind national transformation envisioned by the Government of Guinea.
