The Catholic Bishops of Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei were at Rome and Vatican City from 04 - 09 February 2018 for the Ad Limina visit to the Holy Father, Pope Francis.
The Ad Limina visit marks an important milestone in the establishment of Malaysia - Holy See bilateral relations. First, being that this time around the delegation was led by the first Malaysian Cardinal, His Eminence Soter Fernandes. The second was having the resident Ambassador of Malaysia to The Holy See, His Excellency Tan Sri Bernard Giluk Dompok receiving the delegation for the first time since the establishment of the Embassy of Malaysia to The Holy See on 21 March 2018.
It was a memorable visit for all starting with a courtesy call on the Ambassador of Malaysia to The Holy See, followed by a welcoming dinner hosted by the CBCMSB at the Malaysian Embassy which is located at the main road leading towards Saint Peter's Square. The dinner was attended by the approximately 60 guests consisting of priests, nuns and lay communities currently studying and working with the various Pontifical universities and organizations affiliated to the Vatican.
