Passport Renewal

APPLICATION PROCEDURE FOR RENEWAL OF MALAYSIAN PASSPORT

 

1.         Please be informed that all Consular Matters / Immigration / Passport in Malta should be referred to the Embassy of Malaysia to the Holy See in Rome.

Application of Malaysian Passport 

 

2.         Malaysians residing in Holy See, Malta and Albania may apply for a new Malaysian International passport at the Embassy of Malaysia to the Holy See in Rome. The application form for the passport is attached herewith. Do not send your original passport to the Embassy. Applicants are advised to submit the following documents/forms:

 

  1. 3 copies completed application Forms IM 42 Pin 1/97 
  2. The thumb print can be done at the Embassy when you visit Rome later 
  3. 2 copies of your current Malaysian Passport
  4. 2 Copies of Malaysian ID and Birth certificate 
  5. Copies of your residence / employment pass / work permit in Malta
  6. 4 copies of recent photograph with white background (3.5 X 5 cm)

 

Application by Courier (option only)

 

3.         If the applicant is unable to personally visit the Embassy of the Holy See in Rome, then the other option is as follows:

 

The applicant must complete the passport application (3 copies) form and do the thumbprint at the Consulate of Malaysia in Malta. Once completed, the applicant can then courier the application forms and supporting documents as listed in paragraph 2 above to the Embassy of Malaysia to the Holy See. In this regard, please make an advance appointment with the Secretary of the Honorary Consul of Malaysia in Malta for the thumbprint at the Consulate in Malta.

Passport Fee

 

4.         The 5-year passport fee is RM 200.00 (Euro 44.00). Once you have completed the above process, please courier your complete application forms to the Embassy here in Rome. The Embassy will process your application and then send it to the Immigration Office, High Commission of Malaysia in London. The processing time in London is approximately 2 months.

  

5.         Please be advised that the courier charges to send your application to London (Rome - London) and to send back your approved New Passport to Malta (Rome - Malta) will be borne by the applicant. Please contact the Embassy for further details on the prepaid courier pick up (DHL or Fedex).
