The ASEAN Embassies accredited to The Holy See celebrated the 51st Anniversary of the establishment of ASEAN on 28 August 2018. The event was held at the Embassy of Malaysia to The Holy See.
The celebration begin with a welcoming remarks by Ms. Clara Soon May Lynn, Charge d'Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Malaysia to The Holy See followed by the singing of ASEAN Anthem, an exposition of ASEAN food and culinary and finally, an ASEAN family picture at the Vatican.
The 2018 ASEAN Day celebration was held as part of our initiative and commitment to celebrate solidarity by way of enhancing community outreach and cooperation in all areas. It also provides a platform for closer interaction with our ASEAN colleagues and their family members as we gather as one community.
All participants at the event were served with ASEAN food and delicacies. Among the food served include nasi briyani with lamb, chicken satay lontong, pancit noodles, lumpia, adobo chicken, murtabak, kueh seri muka, ku kueh, kueh gula melaka and etc.
