His Excellency Tan Sri Bernard Giluk Dompok attended the Australia National Day reception hosted by the Embassy of Australia to The Holy See on 26 January 2018 at the Australian Domus in Rome, Italy. His Excellency Tan Sri Bernard congratulated the Ambassador of Australia to The Holy See on the auspicious occasion of the Australian National Day.
His Excellency Tan Sri Bernard also met with The Honourable Julian Gillard, former Prime Minister of Australia. She was the first woman Prime Minister of Australia and is currently the chairwoman of the Global Partnership for Education, an international organisation focussed on getting all children into school for a quality education in the world's poorest countries.
