His Excellency Tan Sri Bernard Giluk Dompok presented New Year wishes 2018 to His Holiness Pope Francis at the Apostolic Palace, Vatican City on 8 January 2018. The event was attended by Diplomatic Corps. accredited to The Holy See, both residence and non-residence in Rome.
During the event, Pope Francis highlighted the importance of integral human development; protecting the vulnerable and marginalised societies; women and children; promotion of peace and development; and international issues related to peace in Korean Peninsula, migration, Israel-Palestine issue, humanitarian crisis in Venezuela, conflicts in the many parts of the African continent and climate change.
