Recently, TYT Ambassador Hendy Assan met with the Editor of the Asia Section of Agenzia Fides, Mr. Paulo Affatato for an in-depth discussion and interview, which will be featured on their platform.
Founded in 1927, Agenzia Fides is the official news agency of the Vatican and operates under the Pontifical Mission Societies. It is recognized as the first missionary news agency of the Catholic Church and among the earliest such agencies globally, established to promote awareness of missionary activities and to provide information on religious, social, and humanitarian issues worldwide.
During the meeting, the TYT Ambassador Hendy exchanged views on global and regional issues, including the Middle East, ASEAN cooperation, and developments in Southeast Asia, highlighting Malaysia’s commitment to peace and multilateralism.
He also shared Malaysia’s experience as a multicultural, multiethnic nation, emphasizing unity, inclusivity, and harmonious coexistence as key pillars of national strength.
TYT Ambassador Hendy was also given a guided tour of the Palazzo di Propaganda Fide, a historic palace located in Rome. The building was originally designed by Gian Lorenzo Bernini and later completed by Francesco Borromini. Since 1626, it has served as the headquarters of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, and since 1929, it has held the status of an extraterritorial property of the Holy See.
