H.E. Ambassador Aminahtun and her spouse, Mr. Shaharudin Abdul Ghani hosted a dinner on 3 June 2009 at the Residence for the Embassy’s long-standing contacts considered as “Friends of Malaysia”. Those invited are involved in various sectors including business, banking, education, culture and medicine. Among the 18 attendees were Mr. Nikica Valentic, former Prime Minister of Croatia, Prof. Dr. Zeljko Reiner, Director of Clinical Hospital Zagreb, Prof. Dr. Davor Jezek, professor at Faculty of Medicine, Universirt of Zagreb, Mr. Damir Rigo, MAS representative in Croatia and Mrs. Zrinka Skarica, author of the book “Malaysia- My Unforgettable Story”.
The purpose of the dinner was to assemble Croatian contacts that were familiar with Malaysia, some having travelled to and lived in Malaysia. Also present were those who had business ties to Malaysia or were interested in working with Malaysia in future projects. Such gatherings will be held from time to time to cultivate better ties and provide more exposure on Malaysia.
