The Consulate General of Malaysia for South India in Chennai hosted the event to commemorate the 56th Independence Day of Malaysia. The event began with the raising of the Malaysian flag, the Jalur Gemilang and the singing of the National Anthem, the Negaraku. The event was followed by remarks from the Consul General, Madam Chitra Devi Ramiah and a breakfast gathering.
