The Consulate General of Malaysia in Chennai organized the King’s Birthday celebration in conjunction of SPB Yang Di Pertuan Agong Birthday this year in Bangalore. The reception was held at the Hotel Movenpick, Bangalore on 9 June, 2012. About 180 Malaysians attended the function comprising of Malaysian students studying in Bangalore, Malaysian professionals working in Bangalore and Malaysian HBS from Chennai.
This year the Office of the Consul (Education & Training) has significantly contributed to the financial support for the event under the special programme with the students in South India.
The Reception began with the National Anthem “NEGARAKU” followed by Special Remarks by the Consul General and presentation of cultural performance by Malaysian Students Association, Bangalore. The reception has received a very warm participation from all Malaysian residing in Bangalore, since this is the first time ever that the King’s Birthday celebration was held outside Chennai.
