1 September 2023 : As part of the 66th Merdeka and Malaysia Day celebrations of our beloved nation, the Consulate General of Malaysia in Chennai, in collaboration with Avichi College of Arts and Science, organised a Malaysia Cultural Extravangaza 2023.
The performance presented personifies the rich and diverse culture of Malaysia. The event was attended by members of the diplomatic corps, comprising the Consul General of Germany, the Consul General of South Korea, the Deputy High Commissioner of Sri Lanka, the Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh, the Vice Consul of the Consulate General of Singapore and about 200 students of the college, together with academic staff. The mesmerising performances by the wonderful cultural troupe from Malaysia received tremendous applause from the audience. As part of the cultural programme, the students and teachers of Avichi College also performed a lively Tamil folk song and a folklore dance.
The cultural performances presented also imbue a sense of celebration of heritage between Malaysia and India, especially South India. Mr. K. Saravana Kumar, Consul General of Malaysia in Chennai, would also like to take this opportunity to appreciate the great support from everyone who made this event a big success.
