27 April 2024 : Capturing a snapshot of the Hari Raya Aidilfitri (Eid Mubarak) Open House in Chennai
The Consulate General of Malaysia in Chennai hosted the Hari Raya Aidilfitri (Eid Mubarak) open house at Rumah Malaysia on 27 April 2024.
The open house reception during festive seasons embodies the Malaysian way of celebrating festivals in our multi-racial community.
Around 280 guests were present, among them members of the diplomatic corps, international organisations, business communities, players in the tourism industry, fellow Malaysians residing in Chennai, representatives from Tamil Nadu government agencies and local leaders.
A variety of Malaysian cuisines were served. Ladies from Perwakilan Chennai prepared some of the Malaysian food, such as Rendang Ayam, Lontong, Pulut Kuning, Ketupat Palas, Lemang and desserts. There was also a live station of banana fritters served with sambal kicap.
Matrade Chennai has also taken the opportunity to promote Malaysian food products.
