‘Khatam Al-Quran’
organized by the Consulate General of Malaysia and Perwakilan Chennai
The Consulate General of Malaysia in Chennai has organized the‘Khatam Al-Quran’ recently on 4th August 2012 in celebration of the fasting month of Ramadhan this year. Family members of the Home-based staff from the Consulate General of Malaysia and Malaysian Muslims residing in Chennai have also joined the function. Besides that, the non-Muslim Malaysian community was also invited for the dinner immediately the ‘Khatam Al-Quran’ has ended.
The ‘Khatam Al-Quran’ started before the iftar (breaking fast) and is then followed by Maghrib prayers. The event is an annual function celebrated during the month of Ramadhan which has been practiced for a few years back. On the other hand, the Perwakilan Chennai (Malaysian Ladies Association) has also organized iftar and solat Terawih every weekend on a rotation basis for all Home-based staff at their respective houses.
