The 1Malaysian India Student Movement (1MISM) was launched by the Consul General Mdm. Chitra Devi Ramiah successfully on 10th January 2013 at the Rain Tree Hotel in Chennai. The programme was fully facilitated by the Consulate General Office in Chennai. The primary objective of 1MISM is the Global Outreach to explain the true meaning of the 1Malaysia concept to Malaysian Indian students pursuing various courses abroad, financing needy students, welfare related issues and to have regular dialogue sessions with the Malaysian Indian students.
BitterSweet Band from Malaysia whom participated and performed in Saraang Music Festival in Chennai on 7-9 January 2013, voluntarily performed for the Malaysians present during the launch of 1MISM session in the spirit of 1Malaysia at The Rain Tree Hotel in Chennai.
