16th September 2023 - Mr. K. Saravana Kumar, the Consul General of Malaysia in Chennai, hosted a Malaysia Day Celebration at the Residency Towers Hotel in Chennai.
The celebration personified the theme of Malaysia Day 2023 "Segulai Sejalai" and also promoted the concept of Malaysia Madani.
The event was attended by over 100 guests comprising of Indian business community, media organizations representatives, representatives from seven Malaysian Universities who are here on "Study in Malaysia Promotion" programme organised by Q Study in South India, tourism industry players and Tamil Nadu State Protocol officials, Malaysian expats and the Consulate General Home Based Staffs together with their family members.
The celebration of the Malaysia Day was made more meaningful with performances such as recitals of patriotic poems, singing of patriotic songs, display of drawing done by the children of home based staffs and a showcase of Malaysia's rich heritage by Perwakilan Chennai ladies. Guests were also treated with variety of Malaysian cuisine.
