On 8 January 2017, The Honourable Datuk Seri Dr. S. Subramaniam, Minister of Health Malaysia and The Honourable Dato’ Seri Utama S. Samy Vellu, Special Envoy of Malaysia for Infrastructure to India and South Asia, met with H.E. Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, at the sidelines of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Conference held in Bengaluru, Karnataka, from 7-9 January 2017. Others from the Malaysian delegation that attended the meeting was Mr. Ahmad Fajarazam bin Abdul Jalil, Consul General of Malaysia in Chennai, Mr. Thanaselan Rajendran, Special Officer to the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk E. Sivabalan, Senior Private Secretary to the Special Envoy and Datuk Sivakumar Krishnan, Press Secretary to the Minister of Health Malaysia.
