The Chief Minister of the State of Melaka transited in Chennai International Airport enroute to Kuala Lumpur on 12 August, 2009.

The Honourable Datuk Seri Hj Mohd Ali Bin Mohd Rustam, Chief Minister of the State of Melaka, accompanied by a 14 member delegation transited for four hours at the Chennai International Airport on 12 August, 2009.  The Chief Minister was in India on a working visit to Mumbai and Hyderabad to see the investment potentials in various fields particularly in Bio Technology.  The Chief Minister was accompanied by his wife Datin Seri Asmah Binti Ab Rahman, two State Assemblymen and other officials.  The Chief Minister and delegation left Chennai on the evening on the same day to Kuala Lumpur by Malaysian Airlines.
