THE CONSUL GENERAL MET DIRECTOR OF NARCOTICS CONTROL BUREAU (NCB), STATE OF TAMIL NADU.

The Consul General, Mr. Anuar Kasman met Mr. S. Davidson, Director of Narcotics Bureau (NCB) for Southern Region on Tuesday, 24th March, 2009 at NCB Office in Chennai.

 

During the meeting, the Consul General discussed about the  illegal trafficking of Ketamine from India to Malaysia.  The Consul General sought the information about the smuggle of 125kg of Ketamine from Tuticorin port, Tamil Nadu to Port Klang on 1st March, 2009.  Mr. Davidson replied that he will find more information about the case.  The Regional Director also mentioned that under the Indian Law, the Ketamine is not classified as Drug.  The Ketamine is not an offence in India and individuals can procure, store and purchase in the market.

 

Both sides agreed to exchange the information from time to time about the Drug and Ketamine issue particularly the syndicate activities including their modus operandi, the people involved and their networking.  The meeting lasted about one hour.
