16 November 2024: Capturing a Snapshot of the Deepavali Celebration Open House in Chennai
The Consulate General of Malaysia in Chennai hosted a vibrant Deepavali Celebration open house at Rumah Malaysia on 16 November 2024.
Open house receptions during festive seasons are a cherished tradition in Malaysia, embodying the nation's spirit of inclusivity and celebrating its multi-cultural community. In line with the Malaysia Madani concept championed by the Malaysian Government, the event reflected the values of unity, harmony, and shared prosperity. The celebration brought together around 250 guests, including members of the diplomatic corps, business leaders, tourism industry representatives, fellow Malaysians residing in Chennai, and officials from Tamil Nadu government agencies, along with local community leaders.
Guests were treated to a delightful array of Malaysian dishes, prepared by the Ladies of Perwakilan Chennai, as well as a selection of local Chennai specialties from popular food and beverage vendors. This fusion of flavours served as a testament to the rich cultural exchange and camaraderie that Deepavali represents.
