THE CURRENT SITUATION IN TAMIL NADU, INDIA
The Consulate General of Malaysia in Chennai is closely monitoring the situation in the State of Tamil Nadu, India following the continued protests throughout the State. To date, the Consulate has confirmed that there are no reports of Malaysians, including students, being injured or affected by the protests.
The Consulate advises all Malaysian students in Tamil Nadu and Bengaluru City not to undertake any unnecessary travel out of their respective campus compound. If travel is unavoidable, then the students are advised to be extra vigilant and to take all necessary precautions for their personal safety and avoid areas where protests and large public gatherings are happening.
Malaysians living and working in Tamil Nadu are advised to refrain from out of station travel where possible and also to be extra vigilant, taking all necessary precautions for their personal safety while avoiding protest areas or large public gatherings.
Malaysians travelling to Tamil Nadu are advised to inform the Consulate General of Malaysia of their presence in the country.
