Mr. Ahmad Fajarazam bin Abdul Jalil, Consul General of Malaysia in Chennai visited Kilakarai municipality to inaugurate the 29th College Day at the Thassim Beevi Abdul Kader College For Women, the only higher education institution exclusively for girl’s education in the municipality, open to all girls irrespective of religion or community origins. During the speech, the Consul General touched upon the long historical and cultural links between Kilakarai and the surrounding districts in south Tamil Nadu and the Malaysian Muslim Indian community.
