H.E. Raja Nushirwan Zainal Abidin, Ambassador of Malaysia to Tehran had met H.E. Dr. Mohammad Mehdi Zahedi, Member of Parliament and the Head of the Iran-Malaysia Parliamentary Friendship Group at the Iranian Parliament in Tehran on 13 July 2014. The meeting was held upon MP Zahedi’s invitation. MP Zahedi was previously a former Ambassador of Iran to Malaysia from 2009-2012. He was well-versed when both were discussing about Malaysia and Iran relations.
Both men agreed on the importance of strengthening relations between the two Islamic countries. Towards this end, the discussed practical steps that can be taken, such as exchanging high level visits, including among parliamentarians. It was also agreed that as leading Islamic countries, both countries should work towards fostering unity within the Muslim world.
