Amb. Sadik met with the new Deputy Foreign Minister (Asia and Pacific) Mr. Ibrahim Rahimpour on Wed. 18 Sept. 2013 at the latter’s office at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. They touched based and exchanged views on bilateral and regional issues. Mr. Rahimpour was vividly upbeat to seeing closer relations between Malaysia and Iran which he described as brotherly and longstanding. On his part, Amb. Sadik saw greater potential to elevate the present bilateral economic and trade relations to a higher plane under the new Administration. DFM Rahimpour was recently appointed by FM Javad Zariff as DFM following reshuffle of portfolios at the MFA. DFM Rahimpour is one of Iran’s senior diplomats having served as Iran’s Ambassador to India, Ireland and Austria. He was most recently served as senior expert for European Affairs.
