Amb. Sadik met with Head of Iran Cultural Heritage and Tourism Organization (ICHTO) Mr. Manouchehr Jananian recently to explore further tourism cooperation between Iran and Malaysia. Several new initiatives were discussed including convening of Technical Committee Meeting, hosting of cultural and handicraft week in both capitals, increase familiriasation tour from among the travel and tour operators from both countries. Iran has also invited Malaysian businesses to invest in tourism related infrastructure projects. The number of Iranian tourists visiting Malaysia has surged in recent years with recorded 139,670 arrivals in 2011
