Reception with Malaysian Participants to the Tehran International Trade Fair

The Embassy of Malaysia in collaboration with MATRADE (Dubai) co-hosted an evening tea reception for the Malaysian participants to the Tehran International Industrial Fairs (TITF) recently.  About twenty five (25) Malaysian Companies took part in the three-day Fair.  Amb. Sadik in his brief remarks welcomed the participants and briefed them on the state of the bilateral relations between the two countries stressing in particular on the trade and investment cooperation.  He also outlined several potential sectors in trade and investment in which Malaysian and Iranian businessman could venture in both countries.  Amb. Sadik also took the opportunity to advise Malaysians not to shy away from the Embassy should they require any assistance.  The reception was preceded by a joint call by Amb. Sadik and Dato’ Zulkipli Mahmud (Trade Attache based in Dubai) on the President of the Iran National Chamber of Commerce, industry and Mines (INCCIM). During the call, various issues of common interest were discussed with a view to reinvigorate further the bilateral and investment ties between the two countries.   INCCIM were also briefed on the Malaysian International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) 2011 and an invitation was extended to its affiliates to participate in the MIHAS 2011 which is scheduled to be held in Kuala Lumpur in April 2011.
