Y.B. Speaker of Parliament, Tan Sri Panglima Pandikar Amin Hj. Mulia was in Tehran on 30 March 2012 to attend the 2nd General Assembly of Meeting Forum of Asia-Pacific Parliamentarians for Education (FASPPED). Y.B. Speaker was accompanied by members of Parliament from Lipis, Silam, Hulu Terengganu and Bachok.
While in Tehran, Y.B. Speaker called on his Iranian counterpart, Dr. Ali Larijani. He also met with H.E. President of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmedinejad and H.E. Minister of Foreign Affairs, Iran, Dr. Ali Akbar Salehi. In those meetings, Y.B. Speaker shared and exchanged views on Malaysia-Iran bilateral relations as well as regional and international issues. Both sides agreed to increase greater interactions between members of Parliament of both countries and called for the establishment of Iran-Malaysia Member of Parliament caucus.
