Iran’s Foreign Ministry in collobaration with Iran’s Cultural, Heritage and Tourism Organisation (ICHTO) recently organized a familiarization tour for Heads of Mission to visit Chabahar, Iran’s south seaport facing Oman sea. The two-day trip was well participated by over thirty Ambassadors and diplomats. The visit’s program included a briefing by Chabahar Governor General on Chabahar Free Trade Zone, Tourism potential and its development plan. Besides its tourism potential, Chabahar’s strategic location down south is seen as the future alternative entrepot to Bandar Abbas seaport which lies in the Strait of Hormuz. Amb. Sadik Gany was given the honor to speak on Malaysia’s experience in the development of its tourism industry.
