Iran hosted the XVI NAM Summit on 30-31 August 2012 with a theme ‘Lasting Peace through Joint Global Governance’. About 29 HOSs/HOGs from the NAM member countries attended the Summit. Malaysia’s delegation was led by YB Menteri Luar. YB Menteri Luar delivered three (3) statements in Tehran including during the (i) Ministerial Meeting of the NAM Committee on Palestine (ii) Interactive Debate on ‘Lasting Peace through Joint Global Governance’ (iii) General Debate during the Plenary Session of the XVI NAM Summit.
While in Tehran, YB Menteri Luar also took time off his busy schedule to a modest cake cutting ceremony and doa selamat to commemorate the 55th Merdeka Anniversary.
