On 26 March 2009, Malaysia has successfully hosted the second ASEAN Ladies Circle in Amman (ALCA) Programme at the Malaysian Residence. Under the patronage of the Datin Jamilah Talib, spouse to Dato' Abdul Malek Abdul Aziz, Ambassador of Malaysia to Jordan who has just arrived Amman in February 2009, Malaysian side managed to take over the chairmanship from Indonesian side and conducted the programme within a short time frame. Congratulations!

The event was attended not only the ladies from the ASEAN countries, but also Malaysians other than home-based staff who resides in Jordan, and some Jordanian ladies as well.
The commencement of ALCA Meeting and welcoming of new ALCA members
It was indeed a colourful and memorable event - it started with commencement of ALCA meeting and welcoming of new ALCA members ' Datin Jamilah Talib and Ms Wong Chia Chiann, Head of Chancery of Embassy of Malaysia. Following that, during the proceeding of the meeting, Malaysian side also managed to put across the idea for the establishment of formal constitution for ALCA, marking the foundation to strengthen ALCA in the future.
The highlight of the event was the programme prepared by PERWAKILAN Malaysia. The Malaysian ladies and their children performed the traditional Malay dance, 'Tarian Inang Bunga Rampai' and two patriotic songs entitled 'Keranamu Malaysia (Because of You, Malaysia)' and 'Dirgahayu Tanahairku (Long Live, My Nation)'. It was followed by cooking demonstration of 'Kuih Apam' by Mrs Norhana Johari, spouse to Mr Sulaiman Ismail, Director of the Malaysian Student Department.
