On February 6, 2006 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister HOR Namhong, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation met with His Excellency Mr. Adnan Bin Othman, new Ambassdor of Malaysia to Cambodia. During the meeting, His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister sincerely thanked the government of Malaysia for its continuous assistance and support fo the construction and development of Cambodia, especially its contribution of train rail for the 48km missing link from Poipet to Sisophon, in Banteay Meanchey province. With regards to the railway line, His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister added that Cambodia was still lack of railway line from Phnom Penh to Loc Ninh, Vietnam. However, the Chinese technicians had already finished their feasibility study. His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister HOR Namhong also requested the Malaysian Government to support the candiadacy of Cambodia for a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for 2013-2014 and for APEC member in 2006. Meanwhile, His Excellency Mr. Adnan Bin Othman recalled the invitation extended by the Malaysian Government to Samdech HUN Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, to pay an official visit to Malaysia.
