From 25 to 29 August 2025, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, YAB Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah bin Haji Yusof, participated in the 15th APEC Energy Ministers’ Meeting (APEC EMM15). The agenda included discussions with energy ministers from 21 APEC member economies, focusing on enhancing energy security, accelerating clean energy adoption, and strengthening regional cooperation.
During the visit, give bilateral meetings were conducted with representatives from the Republic of Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, Brunei and New Zealand. These discussions encompassed various aspects of the energy sector, including investment prospects in energy transition and collaborative efforts on climate change initiatives. Additionally, YAB Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah also took the opportunity to have dinner with the Malaysian diaspora in Busan, Republic of Korea, exchanging insights on the future trajectory of Malaysia's energy landscape.
The visit provided a valuable platform to identify potential avenues for technological collaboration and investment in the clean energy sector between Malaysia and the Republic of Korea. Such partnerships are crucial for Malaysia to expedite its national energy transition and cultivate a globally competitive green ecosystem, aligning with its strategic aspirations.
