56TH NATIONAL DAY CELEBRATION, LOTTE HOTEL SEOUL, 3 SEPTEMBER 2013

Malaysia’s Ambassador to the Republic of Korea H.E. Dato’ Ramlan Ibrahim and  Datin Hafipah Mohd Shah hosted a reception at Lotte Hotel in Seoul on 3 September 2013 to celebrate Malaysia’s 56th National Day.

The reception commenced with the National Anthems of both countries followed by the welcoming speech by Ambassador Ramlan and the congratulatory speech by H.E. Cho Tae-yul, the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, who was the Guest of Honour, representing the ROK government. The Ambassador’s speech focused on the National Day theme “My Sovereign Malaysia: My Native Land” and the close bilateral relations between the two countries. The audience was also treated to Malaysia’s multi-cultural traditional dances performed by the Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur dance troupe flown in especially for the occasion in cooperation with Tourism Malaysia, Seoul.

More than 450 guests representing the diplomatic corps, ROK government, NGOs and private sector graced the reception from 6.30 to 8.30pm.
