The 57th Executive Board Meeting (EB) of the ASEAN – Korea Centre (AKC) was held on 23 April 2025 with the presence of all of its members. Consistent with the ASEAN Chairmanship rotation system, Malaysia was assigned to chair the meeting and the other two subsequent meetings to be held in August and December 2025 respectively. The meeting perused and deliberated on a number of confirmed activities that will be undertaken by the AKC with the view to increasing the presence and visibility of ASEAN in the ROK. The meeting also welcomed its newest member from the ROK, namely, Mr Ha Daegoog who is the new Director of the ASEAN & Southeast Asian Affairs Bureau and bade farewell to the EB Member from Lao PDR, Mr Alounkone Boulommavong and Ms Kang Ji-hyun, Head of the Information and Data Unit (IDU) of the AKC who would complete their tenure in June 2025.
