Tourism Malaysia, Seoul hosted a special reception at the Embassy of Malaysia on 10 June 2013 in appreciation of the support and cooperation of those involved in the Malaysia Spring Sunday Market held on 12 May 2013 . The occasion was also to formally donate part of the proceeds from the Sunday Market to the Namsanwon Orphanage and to give out the prizes for the lucky draw and “best booth” at the Sunday Market. H.E. Dato’ Ramlan Ibrahim, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of Korea, in his remarks at the event congratulated Tourism Malaysia, Seoul for organizing the Sunday Market and thanked all the participants from the Embassy, PERWAKILAN (Embassy women’s organization), Malaysian Association in the Republic of Korea (MARK) and Malaysian students in Korea for their support. The Sunday Market had been a great success and had the potential to become a regular event in Tourism Malaysia’s calendar. Guests at the reception enjoyed exuberant performances by Malaysian dancers from Istana Budaya dance academy, teh tarik or tea-pulling demonstrations and also batik-painting as well as a hearty feast.
The donation of an airconditioning unit to the Namsanwon Orphanage was presented by Dato' Ramlan to the Executive Director of Namsanwon Orphanage Joshua Park at the reception.
The winner of the lucky draw at the Malaysia Spring Sunday Market received a return air ticket to Malaysia.
