COMMEMORATION CEREMONY FOR THE 77TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE CONSTITUTION

A special commemorative event was recently held by the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea to mark the 77th anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Korea. The ceremony took place at the Rotunda Hall of the National Assembly’s main building and was graced by the presence of over 500 distinguished guests from various sectors of society, including members of the diplomatic corps. The Embassy of Malaysia in Seoul was represented by its Deputy Chief of Mission.

In his address, H.E. Woo Won-shik, Speaker of the National Assembly, highlighted the pivotal role of the Constitution in safeguarding the rights and freedoms of the people – an enduring testament to their collective commitment to upholding the supreme law of the nation. He further noted that, in view of evolving societal needs and expectations, it is both timely and necessary to consider amendments to the current Constitution to better reflect the spirit and demands of the present era.
