The Deputy Director-General (Entrepreneurship) of Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) paid a courtesy call on the Embassy of Malaysia in Seoul as part of his working visit to the Republic of Korea (ROK) from 26 to 29 August 2025. He was warmly welcomed by the Deputy Chief of Mission, along with the Education Counsellor from MARA based in Seoul.
The visit provided an opportunity for both sides to engage in a meaningful discussion on a wide range of topics related to education, entrepreneurship, and bilateral cooperation. During the meeting, the Deputy Director-General shared MARA’s ongoing efforts to support bumiputera entrepreneurs in exploring opportunities abroad, including in the ROK market. Both parties exchanged views on the potential for local market penetration by Malaysian businesses, as well as the challenges faced in establishing a foothold in a competitive and dynamic environment like the ROK.
The discussion also touched on student-related matters, particularly the welfare and academic progress of MARA-sponsored students currently studying in the ROK. The Embassy reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Malaysian students and strengthening collaboration with MARA to ensure their well-being.
The visit underscored MARA’s proactive approach in building strategic networks abroad while highlighting the Embassy’s role in facilitating Malaysia’s economic and educational interests in the ROK.
