On 7 February 2025, H.E. Dato' Mohd Zamruni Khalid, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of Korea received a courtesy call from H.E. Seokhee Kang, Ambassador for International Relations of Gyeongsangbuk-do Province and senior officials from Gumi City.
During the meeting, both sides discussed avenues for collaboration, particularly in preparation for the upcoming 2025 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit and the Asian Athletics Championship, both of which will be hosted the Gyeongsangbuk-do Province.
Ambassador Kang reaffirmed Gyeongsangbuk-do’s commitment to fostering deeper cooperation with Malaysia in various sectors. H.E. Ambassador Zamruni also underscored Malaysia’s support for initiatives that promote regional and economic collaboration between the two countries. HE Ambassador noted that the APEC Summit and the Asian Athletics Championship provide valuable platforms to enhance diplomatic relations, facilitate business opportunities, and showcase the rich cultural heritage of participating nations.
