DINNER RECEPTION WITH PRESIDENT LEE JAE-MYUNG IN COMMEMORATION OF THE 80TH LIBERATION DAY

On 15 August 2025, President Lee Jae-myung of the Republic of Korea hosted a dinner reception in commemoration of the 80th anniversary of Liberation Day, one of the nation’s most significant annual observances. The event brought together members of the diplomatic corps, several Ministers, members of the National Assembly, and key leaders from major businesses and economic associations. Malawakil Seoul was represented by its Charge d’Affaires a.i. at the said event. 

This occasion marked President Lee’s first direct engagement with the diplomatic community since taking office. In his remarks, the President outlined the government’s latest initiatives and shared the administration’s vision for the Republic of Korea’s diplomatic trajectory. Key topics included the promotion of human rights, the treatment of migrant workers, and the cultivation of culture as a foundation for peaceful coexistence. The Second Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs also delivered a brief overview of preparations for the upcoming APEC Summit to be held in Gyeongju on 31 October and 1 November 2025, highlighting Korea’s role in advancing regional cooperation and inclusive growth.
