Embassy Officials Feted to Korean Traditional Fare
Officials at the Embassy of Malaysia in Seoul were treated to one of Korea’s most well-known traditional dishes – bibimbap - on Monday 30 January 2012. Ms Choi Hae-jin, from CJ Foodville, representing the Korean fast food outlet Bibigo made a lunch date to serve the Korean dish at the Embassy to explain its preparation and consumption. Ms Choi also explained that the outlet had already set up shop in Singapore and was looking to expand further into the Southeast Asian market, including Malaysia, by next year. For the moment, the company was focusing on the US and western markets. H.E. Dato’ Ramlan Ibrahim, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of Korea, welcomed the initiative by CJ Foodville to expand to Malaysia as a positive development in the bilateral relations both in the business and cultural aspects.
