Malaysians assembled at the Embassy of Malaysia in the Republic of Korea on 31 August 2013 for a flag-raising ceremony to mark the 56th anniversary of Malaysia’s independence.
The meaningful ceremony at the Embassy compound was attended by Malaysians living in the Republic of Korea, Malaysian students in Korea, Embassy officers and staff and their families. The ceremony commenced with the singing of the “Negara-ku” while the Malaysian flag was slowly raised. This was followed by the recitation of prayers and the speech by H.E. Dato’ Ramlan Ibrahim, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of Korea. The ceremony ended with a brunch reception prepared by PERWAKILAN Seoul (Association of Spouses of Embassy Officers and Staff).
