H.E. AMBASSADOR HONORARY CITIZEN OF SEOUL

 H.E. Dato’ Ramlan Ibrahim, Malaysia’s Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, became the second Malaysian to receive the Seoul Honorary Citizenship Award at a special ceremony in Seoul on 29 October 2012 among ten other recipients. Former Prime Minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi was honoured in 2004. Seoul Mayor Park Won Soon hosted the ceremony and presented the awards to the recipients who included the Ambassadors of the Czech Republic and Azerbaijan, university professors, business and community leaders. The Seoul Honorary Citizenship has been awarded since 1958 to foreigners, foreign heads of states, chief administrative executives, and foreign diplomats who have contributed to boosting bilateral relations, international exchange and the development of Seoul as an advanced global city. To date a total of 677 foreigners have been named honorary Seoul citizens.
