On 9 July 2025, His Excellency Dato' Mohd Zamruni Khalid, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of Korea hosted a luncheon in honour of His Excellency Kim Jae Shin, Secretary General of the ASEAN – Korean Centre (AKC). Also in attendance were Mr Nazarudin Jaafar, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Malaysia who is the current Chair of the Executive Board of the AKC, and other officials from the Embassy and the AKC.
They exchanged views on ASEAN-ROK pragmatic relations and discussed on some regional issues which were of great interest to ASEAN and the ROK. Both agreed to foster ASEAN-ROK cooperation in intensifying ASEAN-ROK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership aspiration under Malaysia's ASEAN Chairmanship 2025.
