The Malaysian Embassy ladies association Perwakilan set up a booth to showcase the Malay Wedding Ceremony at the Festive Decorations Around the World event organized by the Association of Spouses of Ambassadors in South Korea and supported by the Korea Foundation Center from 4 to 6 April 2013 in Seoul. At the opening ceremony, a mock wedding ceremony was conducted for the audience and the traditional token gift of beautifully wrapped boiled eggs or bunga telur was distributed to guests. The visitors admired the sparkling wedding attire and the wedding gifts called hantaran artistically displayed on trays. The bright and colourful decorations of the wedding dais also caught the attention of the many guests and members of other participating countries. The contribution by the Tourism Malaysia office in Seoul for the decorations and food complemented the Perwakilan ladies’ hard work in putting up an impressive booth. A total of 28 countries were represented at the event.
