On 5 January 2026, a high-level strategic engagement was held between the Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of Korea and the leadership of Korea Importers Association (KOIMA), reaffirming strong bilateral trade cooperation. Discussions highlighted Malaysia’s participation in Korea Import Expo, growing interest in the halal industry, and opportunities for KOIMA members through Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS).
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepen collaboration, including a proposed KOIMA import mission to Malaysia in 2026 with structured B2B engagements.
