On 5 August 2025, the Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM) / Minister at the Embassy of Malaysia in Seoul had an engagement with the Mr Zushi Shuji, Deputy Secretary General of Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) as part of the continuous efforts to establish and deepen relations with key stakeholders in the Republic of Korea (ROK). TCS was identified as a priority stakeholder in light of its institutional mandate to promote and facilitate cooperative ties among China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea, collectively referred to as CJK. The choice of TCS was also shaped by past interactions where the DCM had previously participated in two high-level programmes organised by the Secretariat, namely, the 9th CJK Trilateral Summit and the 2024 International Forum for Trilateral Cooperation (IFTC), held in May and June 2024 respectively. These engagements had provided valuable insights into the evolving dynamics of trilateral diplomacy in Northeast Asia.
